My first love of creating definitely began in kindergarten. I was determined to color my fire engine purple. Apparently, that wasn't an approved color for fire trucks!
I can honestly say that I see the world in color. I quite literally cannot imagine a world of black and white. (My hardest card challenge EVER was a black and white card! More on that later.)
I am tickled to be able to share my creations. I will share inspiration, tips, and tricks.
Mixed media. It is funny how that phrase can make experienced creative people become a wee bit uncertain! I want to share my love of making things just a bit more amazing with some simple tools and techniques.
My first class was three years ago and my creative mind was blown wide open. I had no idea that this level of magic existed in my crafty universe! More than anything, I want to break it all down into simple steps that lead to big impact in your creations!
I am a pen and paper kind of girl. I have tried that whole electronic world keeping. I am so bad at it!! Like terrible, cannot find where I am supposed to be or what I am supposed to be doing. And with whom? I mean that whole teeny tiny line on a very small calendar does nothing for me.
Imagine my joy and surprise when I ran into other like-minded people who understood! No words, no need for explanations, just yep, welcome, we get you. Amazing! So I started with a happy heart to write it all down. Literally, the most wonderful moment to know I was NOT alone. The simple joy of a clean page, a rainbow of pens, and ya know some stickers. I want to be able to share that with any of you who might be wondering just how anyone makes those little digital boxes on their phones keep their lives in order.
Creating a Crafty Life
Creating a crafty life does not require a degree in art. You don't have to be an expert. You do NOT have to know what all the tools, trends, and techniques are. Just begin.
There is something truly magical about a fresh new box of crayons and a brand new coloring book! Let go of all the expectations you are feeling to be "good" at it. Pick out your favorite color in a few shades and just put that crayon to paper. It will just happen. Before you know it, you are calm, smiling, maybe tongue sticking out because you are so focused on adding all the hues to your page!
This moment, when your spirit sighs, is an opportunity to unleash your inner creative. If you don't think of yourself as a creative person, this will show you that it is indeed inside you!
